This is a two day class that will introduce the open water diver to the world of navigation and night diving.

Many divers find that night diving is their favorite type of diving. As with all specialty diving applications, procedures are different than those associated with Open Water Diving. Jay will be leading this class with the purpose of acquainting the Open Water Diver with the procedures, techniques, and potential hazards associated with diving at night or in limited visibility. By becoming familiar with the use of dive lights and night diving techniques such as navigation, buddy system procedures and communications, buoyancy control, and interacting with nocturnal aquatic life, the diver must be able to enjoy night diving with maximum safety.

Students will be required to make at least two night dives for certification.

The navigation portion is designed to give students a greater understanding and experience how to properly navigate underwater using both natural and compass navigation. Different styles of compasses will be used. The diver will also be required to perform different underwater patterns using the compass.

During this course you will also learn compass features, distance estimating, and reading ocean bottom contours.

Prerequisites for this course are:

-Open Water Scuba Diver certified

-18 years old

-10 years old with parental consent.

This class has a minimum enrollment of 3 people.
